   The pricing on this makes absolutely no sense to me. For the amount you’re receiving, I don’t think it should be this high. It doesn’t really dissolve well compared to others I’ve tried out, it’s less noticeable in thicker beverages like smoothies. The smell from the bag is a bit off putting but not the worst. Luckily, it has no taste whatsoever ( at least to me), so it can easily be consumed without worrying about that. I’ve only been taking it two weeks so it’s still early days as far as noticing any differences since taking it.

   So the directions say to mix this in with a drink or juice. I just mixed it with water. After mixing it, it does take a while to fully absorb into the water, like maybe 5 minutes, but the flavor is flavorless even though it looks like ugly pond water. I like that it has so many types of collagen in it. Though for the price point the bag is kinda small.

   This Yoli mix has the full spectrum of collagens that cover a long list of aging woes – skin, joints, inflammation, wound healing. The powder has no taste and it dissolves completely in my hot tea. As for the ingredients: the Collagen I & III for skin and hair, the UC-II for joint pain. (FYI: the UC-II is more effective than glucosamine and chondroitin for joint pain.) The Avian Eggshell Membrane Powder for wound healing and skin elasticity. MSM for inflammation and joint health. The Hyaluronate for joint health and lubrication. The Gynostemma to protect from free radical damage. I have been taking Vital Proteins Bone & Joint Collagen Support for a while, and this Yoli supplement seems to match the VP with a few additional unique ingredients to better help the body fight inflammation and free radical damage. If this Yoli brand had the Verisol version of bovine collagen it would be perfect.

   This collagen powder came in a well-sealed bag and has an expiration date of 10/20/2024. It’s a fine powder that dissolves well (I use a handheld frother). The bag says it’s unflavored, but that doesn’t mean there’s no flavor at all. It’s pretty mild, though, and the taste isn’t noticeable when mixed into a protein shake. I like the fact that it comes in a resealable bag that takes up less cabinet space than the plastic containers most collagens come in.

   I’ve been ordering various brands of collagen for a while now, and this one ranks up there as on of the most expensive ones I’ve tried so far. It seems to have a good blend and amount of collagen, but I have difficulty in getting it to fully blend in with cold milk. It also has a bit of an unpleasant smell and it seems to be a combination of egg and vegetable odor- possibly from the leaf extract ingredient. Once I’ve got it mixed into hot coffee, I don’t really notice the smell. Even mixing it with a hot coffee in a blender, there’s still some unmixed stuff left in the bottom of my cup. I think I’ll stick with pure bovine collagen from now on.

   I’ve tried a handful of unflavored collagen powders in the past. The most affordable of which was $1.44/oz. This product, as you may be aware, is $7.15/oz. At 4x – 5x the price of other powders, even if it did offer 4x – 5x the benefit, I think I’d find it difficult to pay that sort of price per month (i.e. $99 / 30 servings).

   Okay so the price is a little jarring, but the bag is actually much bigger than I expected. This claims it’s a 30 day supply, but I can easily make this last months (I usually take smaller than the recommended dose of supplements because I’m healthy, young and small and I listen to my body tell me what I need. I’m also by no means a doctor so please dose however you and/or your physicians see fit). The dry texture, if you’re curious, is something like cornstarch. The smell and taste (alone, not mixed into anything) are both very mild. It smells faintly like grassy butter (not bad) and it tastes the same with almost a hint a pancakes? It mixes better with some fats, so if you’re putting this in coffee I wouldn’t put it in black; it kind of lumps up. Add a touch a milk (or non-dairy) and it mixes way better! It also doesn’t mix into cold liquid very well, the hotter the better

This specific collagen and protein comes in a bag that is with 30 servings, which can translate to 30 days of use, without any artificial flavors or added sugar, which is again a preferable flavor for me. Positives: – Great combination between collagen and protein – if you are looking for dairy free protein to substitute a regular whey protein, this one is a very good choice, it is gluten, dairy and soy free, plus non-gmo as well. – No sugar, no artificial coloring, no preservatives, in addition it is keto and paleo friendly. – Easy to prepare and use – I mix every dose with almond milk and drink it after a meal, the taste is not too chocolaty and definitely not as creamy as whey protein. – Good supplement for everyone that is actively exercising or training, wants healthier bones, hair and nails. Negatives: – Expensive – 30 servings only for $99, at the same price you can get over twice the servings from good quality protein plus collagen pills. – Taste – It’s definitely an acquired taste, a bit plain and bland compared to regular protein. – Not evaluated or rated by the FDA, definitely an issue if you are someone that is concerned about it. Overall, good collagen powder, and a very good substitution to regular pills and liquids, plus protein for any people that are trying to stay away from dairy.

    If you buy collagen supplements you know it’s very expensive. There is quite a bit of settling which is expected, but weighs out and seems to be a lot more for your money. It’s near flavorless as it does have an odor that hints towards baby formula but not as stout. I add this and L-Leucine to my chocolate protein powder and it masks any flavor you might expect from the slight aroma of the powder. Worth the cost in comparison to what you might find at a big box store.
