   This has a moderately strong taste that will limit adding it to other liquids without changingthe taste. It also does not dissolve in hot liquids (don’t try it in coffee with creamer) and must be drank pretty quickly if put in room temperature water to avoid settling. Using a blender as a smoothie or with squirter flavoring is recommended.

   I tried mixing two scoops with organic vanilla soymilk in my blender bottle and there were so many chunks, it was like trying to drink soup. I could just barely taste a hint of pea flavor in the chunks of powder though. I highly recommend blending this in a smoothie for some flavorless, clean, easily digestible protein. Drinking this didn’t leave me feeling bloated or heavy at all. There are 35 servings in this container, that’s about $.86 per serving for organic made in the USA pea protein. A great deal in my opinion!

   This is a great source of high quality protein in a convenient source that stays fresh for a long time. I love that I can add this to soups, smoothies, and anywhere to add a bit of high quality protein without getting it from a meat source. When you eat animal protein, your body breaks it down and reassembles it into a protein it can use anyway. This protein is a excellent source of protein that your body can use immediately for building and repairing. Regardless of the number of amino acids that a protein is comprised of, it is important to eat a variety of foods and for me, this pea protein is an excellent addition to a healthy diet. It does smell terrible, like a hamster cage. If you can get over that, it’s great.

   I thought I would try this pea protein because of it’s reasonable cost and the fact that it grown and produced in North America.
   It has a good, neutral taste, no bitterness. My only hesitation is that it does not mix as easily as some other pea protein powders I have used. It’s fine in a blender, but I find there are lumps with my milkshake maker.
   Otherwise it is good value and recommended.
   P.S. I wish the protein powder producers would give us a production trail for their products. That is, where were the plants grown, where was it made into a powder, where has it been stored, etc. Thank you.

   The size of the bag is much bigger in person then it looks in the pictures. Almost 2 and a half pounds of pea protein! I took a picture of it next to a large jar of supplements to help give it some scale. The flavor is exactly what you would expect. Very mild almost like flour (but not). The mild flavor makes it easy to add this to food without anyone making a fuss about the taste. I have added this to salad, and a baked vegan casserole and both came out perfect. I haven’t tried it in a smoothie but the flavor is mild enough that it isn’t going to overwhelm most other flavors in food. My husband puts it in his coffee and says it is fine. (I have not yet partaken of that one) Overall, for the quantity and quality of this monster pea protein bag is an easy 5 stars.

   I like this Pea Protein powder. It has the expected amino acid profile, as well as the nutritional facts associated with pea protein. A serving is 2 scoops (34g) which is actually a lot of powder, I will provide nutritional information based upon one scoop/17grams, which will be easier if you’re incorporating this into a smoothie or adding to cooked/baked foods. (At least this method helps me figure out how many calories, sugars, fats, carbs I’m adding to a recipe, like cookies or bread.) So, for one scoop/17grams, the calories is only 60. 0.75g Total Fats, 0mg Cholesterol, 55g Sodium, 6.5g Total Carbohydrates, 0g Sugars, 13.6g Protein. This is what i expect from pea protein, and it’s a healthy addition to cookies or bread recipes. You can add this powder to a smoothie, but be sure to use other components that have flavors, like berries, bananas, cacao powder. This is powdered peas, so there is some flavor. It is not very ‘present’ in foods, but if just put into water or milk, you will detect the mild taste. This product has numerous certification/badges on the packaging. Made in USA, Gluten-free, Non-GMO, Soy-free, Dairy-free, Sugar-free, Lab Tested, GMP Certified. The Lab Tested and GMP certified badges are especially important, it indicates attention to the integrity and purity of ingredients and processing. All the badges are impressive, but the two are especially important. They check off crucial boxes for me. At approximately $11.45/lb, this is a bit pricier than other similar products. Comparable products range in price from $7/lb and over $25/lb, quite a vast range. So, this is near the medium low range of costs, but still a bit pricey. Based on initial impressions and excellent certifications, this organic pea protein earns a 4.25 – 4.5 star rating, with a high level recommendation.

   This pea protein is outstanding with a Sweet Buttery flavor. I have tried several other pea protein products but never reordered because of the lumpiness and lack of a wonderful flavor. I enjoy this product alone mixed with water or sometimes with juice. It’s good to know that the product is organic and made in USA that’s probably why it’s so sweet!

   This is an extremely fine powder. Static electricity makes it clump oddly, and then little puffs of powder go shooting off the scoop like sparks. Pretty cool, although messy. I mixed a scoop of this powder with ¼ cup water. It instantly formed a clay-like paste. I tasted some. It tastes sort of like a whole-grain flour, with a very smooth texture. It’s not really a taste I’d want in a beverage as the label suggests. Instead, I used this as a substitute for some of the flour in a gluten-free bread recipe to make a bread with more protein.The flavor was great, but it was denser than when I use rice protein powder in my gluten-free breads. It was delicious sliced thinly and toasted. Here’s the recipe I used, but you could substitute some of the flour in your favorite bread recipe. Dump all these ingredients into a stand mixer with a dough hook: 2 1/4 cups warm water 2 teaspoons yeast 3 tablespoons sugar 1 cup tapioca starch 2.5 cups cup gluten-free oat flour (or your favorite gluten-free flour) ½ cup this pea protein powder 1/4 cup powdered psyllium husk 1 tablespoon ground chia seed 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 2 tablespoons oil Mix into a dough, then in my case, wrap the dough in a nonstick grill mat and put in an evacuated tube solar cooker in the sun to rise and bake until it reaches an internal temperature of about 209p degrees F, about two hours. Or if you don’t have a solar cooker, put it in a loaf pan, or form it into whatever shape you like on a baking sheet, let it rise, and bake it in an oven at 350 F until done. Substituted for some of the flour in a bread recipe like this, this powder makes bread with more protein and less carbohydrate, and it’s pretty tasty.

    Remember when you were a kid- “eat your veggies”? I don’t know about you… but peas were among the worst. So when I bought this product… knowing it didn’t have all the other crap that most the other pea proteins have to offset the taste- including all sorts of sweeteners… my expectations were met. Disclosure (obvious?): It did NOT taste glorious. But… it’s *peas* for crying out loud. So when people are disappointed with the taste I can hardly believe it. They should have purchased the protein powders that have all the other sweeteners and other stuff in them if that’s what they expect.

    Here’s an easy solution for this though. If you’re looking for a sweeter taste… and don’t want to add straight sugar or stevia… just add a little honey. Or maple syrup. It does the trick.

    I buy this product because I want organic, quality pea protein. And that’s what I get. And if I want to control the taste a little bit from time to time with sweetners, I just add honey or maple syrup.

    This Vunnex 100% Pure Organic Hydrolyzed Pea Protein Powder was available to me through the bestproteinpowder4women.net Vine program. I ordered it for my vegetarian daughter. At first glance, the product seems a bit expensive. However, it is a large bag, containing 2.62 lbs. The powder contains only one ingredient, organic hydrolyzed pea protein (100% pure raw yellow peas sourced from Canada). A serving is 2 scoops and contains 120 calories, 1.5 g fat and 27.2 g protein, which is over half of the protein needed for the day! My daughter added this powder to a smoothie which contained healthy ingredients including a frozen banana, a turmeric blend, chia powder and soy milk. She said she didn’t really notice much of a difference in the way of taste or texture, and the pea powder gives her an additional source of protein and iron. In fact, she says in most cases, she’ll only use one scoop instead of the recommended two since it is so high in protein. This pea protein powder is made in the USA.

    I was looking for an unflavored vegan protein powder. The vanilla ones I’ve tried in the past were too strong tasting. This one has a lot of protein and blends well. It doesn’t have any taste! The only negative is the resealable closure doesn’t work. It’s impossible to reseal it. I used some clips instead.
