   If this protein powder mixed well, and the texture didn’t make me gag, I’d have no complaints. I need to cut out animal proteins, and this product seemed liked a good solution. But when I mixed it my smoothie ingredients in the blender, the texture became paste like. I forced myself to finish an entire blender full of nutritious drink because I hate to waste. However, I ended up dumping most of it because the texture was too thick & grainy. The taste isn’t great either, but I figured the fruit & yogurt would mask it. Umm, not so much. The thick, grainy texture is unpalatable to me. But, I tried the powder again, hand blending it using a tiny whisk into a well-known breakfast drink. My photo shows the result. This protein powder NEVER broke down properly, but it wasn’t a lack of mixing skill on my part. The lumps made the liquid undrinkable. I tried! Ugh! So disgusting, I gave up. More waste, AND I was queasy. Lol. Never again. Ingredient quality doesn’t matter if you can’t consume it.

   I always buy the vanilla and chocolate shake, but this shake is the best. It is meal replacement fo r me, and I also put it in my porridge, and made shake with almond milk. . I don’t think you would be able to find a unsweetened good protein powder like this one and yes, the price is worth it.

   I have concern about the metals reportedly found in the products and that aspect needs more investigation. However I use a number of their products and had thought they were good. But this one product out of their line gave me pause on two accounts. First the taste is not good. I accept that based on all the unflavored and no stevia labeling. Seems raw protein is pretty yucky tasting. Secondly the amount of product in the container was not much. Seems odd. I attempted to contact them about this but got no response.

   I’m happy with it. It does have a flavor, sort of earthy, puts me in the mind of herbal tea. Seems to mix well in my blender bottle. Ingredients are NSF certified, so it is what it says it is. A little pricey for what you get, but it’s currently 2025 and costs $1200 a month to live in a tool shed sooo…

   Have been using this product for years. Just arrived with redesigned label that reads “New & Improved”. Uh oh! We all know what that means! So I compared the ingredients — found the rip-off which I’d love to know how it’s an improvement. Specifically removed the following nutrients: Zinc, magnesium, selenium and potassium which they had the nerve to list as 0mg. Calcium’s reduced by 10mg; Vit A’s increased by 14mg which is the only improvement. A reason to love this product is the low carb content — not now–they’re inching up the carbs (1g to 2g) and sodium (250-270mg). Elemenated completely and reduced significantly are most of the probiotics. See ya Garden Of Life– “New & Improved”? I don’t think so.

   I have been purchasing this item for approximately 10 years. It now has “new and improved” written on the label. The changes I see are actually a significant reduction in its vitamin and mineral content, as well as probiotics. For example, the previous version had 80% of your daily allowance of selenium. 30% for manganese (in addition to other minerals). as well as 3 billion CFU for probiotics. The “new and improved” version has NO selenium, NO manganese as well as missing other vitamins and minerals the previous version had. It only has 250 million CFU probiotics, compared to 3 billion! “New and improved” is a total scam and I am extremely disappointed with the deceptive marketing of this product.

   I bought this hoping to sneak it into drinks and food for my toddler who is in a very picky eating phase. If that’s your hope, don’t buy this. It has a very strong taste, is a dark tan color, and has a slightly gritty texture after blended. Even adding it to something like hot chocolate, all you taste is the protein powder. It’s great for what it is, but I’m disappointed in that it doesn’t do what I hoped. I guess I’ll use it. Nutritionally great but definitely not unflavored.

   I really enjoy this protein powder—great taste, smooth texture, and it mixes well! My only complaint is that the container is huge but only half full when it arrives. It seems wasteful to use such a large container for so little product. I’d love to see the company adjust the packaging to match the actual amount of powder inside. Other than that, it’s a great product!

    I have been an bestproteinpowder4women.net.com customer for over 13 years. I have never written a review, until now. I am so disgusted with Garden of Life and their “updated” product. It comes in a larger tub. It has a larger scoop. There is bold print everywhere on how it has 22 grams of protein per serving. Yet when I stopped to analyze their newest iteration of their protein product, I realized I am getting MUCH LESS. The tub, although being much larger than the previous version comes brand new, HALF EMPTY. The NEW and IMPROVED version has only 20 SERVINGS total per tub. The old had about a months supply – 28 servings. So to break it down New vs Old: New tub = 568g of total product; 28g serving size; 22g protein (78% protein) Old tub = 622g of total product; 22g serving size; 17g protein (77% protein) In reality we are ending up with just a very slight increase in the amount of protein per scoop, yet 8 servings less and in that ridiculous LARGER tub. The new tub is LARGER in size yet contains LESS. That was just wasteful, possibly designed to deceive the consumer – all from a company that states it wants to do the best for the world. How about start by being honest and simply maintain what you had going while improving the contents. If you reduce the amount of product – then REDUCE THE SIZE OF THE TUB! Lastly, regarding the servings. 28 servings in the old tub and 20 in the new. I will have to purchase the NEW product over 18 times in one year period if I’m taking one serving per day. The old tub would have to be bought about 13 times. I am a college student without much extra money who tries to eat healthy. I always sit in the front of the class and even if I’m not the brightest student I do know that money doesn’t grow on trees. I have learned however after this product, money is growing VERY well in the Garden of Life.

    Good product. I blend it into my smoothie and it’s tasteless. I bit pricey for the amount that’s packaged imo. The jar it comes in is deceptive. After opening its visibly half empty or half full depending how you look at it. Just a heads up if you think this tall jar will last you a while.

    I just received this today. My main purpose to buy this was to stop feeling so hungry specially after a workout. I am also hoping to increase my energy level which dies every afternoon. Its only my first day but I am so full. I don’t feel like eating dinner. I have done a boot camp today. Normally I would be ready to eat the house. But today I don’t feel hungry. I can make the right choice for my meal. I had no issues with the taste. Its not sweet like some other protein powders. Its grainy but thats ok. I don’t mind that. I mixed in strawberries, vit E capsule content, 1 tsp honey(although not needed) and plain fat free yogurt. I am hoping my search for protein shakes has ended. I will be updating a month later if I see more benefits.

    Typically with these products, I know many people complain about the package to powder ratio, the manufacturer can’t fill the product to the top or else the included scooper won’t fit. I was pleasantly surprised to see that this product was actually pretty full for this type of packaging! It was so full that I had to dig the scooper far into the powder just to close the container. I’ve ordered this product a couple times from vitamin shops, but will now be ordering from this seller from now on. TIP: To avoid the gritty texture in your smoothie, mix the powder with some kind of liquid first (except milk/non-dairy milk, it will cause it to clump) and then add your smoothie ingredients and blend.

    New product tastes awful, has less product, and the manufacturer is trying to deceive you. How can we trust them if they aren’t even honest about their packaging? New bottle says “30% more protein”, “smoother”, “better”. Awesome I thought. Then I looked at the bottle. There is less in it than the original formula. The container grew way larger, but the powder shrunk. It was already only half full, now even more wasted space. How can they say 30% more if there is 10% less in the bottle?? Well, they must mean per serving. Oh, wait, the scoop grew too. The new bottle has 20 servings and the old “smaller” bottle had 28 servings. Wow. What liars. There is not more protein unless you are a corporate finance attorney who writes deceiving labels. I’m never buying from this manufacturer again. I’m guessing they must have lost their way to big corporate interests. Oh, almost forgot. The new “better” formula tastes horrible. Way worse. It is smoother and sticks to everything, so there is that.

    Got the unflavored version, just what i was hoping for. Clear flavor that blends in well with my unsweetened almond milk. Clumps up a little at first when string it in but it dissolves well once you stir it for a minute or two. Plus its raw, organic, plant based, unsweetened and all that jazz.     The reason for this review is the new packaging. The new packaging says “new and improved with 30% more protein”. But when I compared the nutrition information with the old packaging, this is what I saw: Old packaging \ new packaging Total weight: 622 g \ 568 g Protein per serving: 17g \ 22g Serving size 1 scoop: 22g \ 28g Serving size per container: 28 \ 20 Price: $28.21 \ $31.68 (Jan 2016 \ July 2016) I am giving 4 stars because I don’t have any complaints about the powder quality. But trust is an extremely important factor for something that goes into my body. The claims in the new packaging makes me question that. The new bottle is taller than the older one, but it is only half full. Scoop is bigger as well. New packaging has less powder for higher price. New one has some extra ingredients though.     There’s a lot I like about the powder itself. I’m glad it’s organic, doesn’t have stevia, and is vegetarian and gluten-free. However, I don’t understand why it’s shipped only half full. With how plastic isn’t recycling anymore, it seem the company should be using something more environmentally friendly.
