   I am sure there are some people out there who will love this product, but not me. If it’s vanilla, you basically can’t tell. It was gritty and sandy. Not very pleasant to eat. The rest of it is in the garbage.

   If you’re looking for a premium, convenient, easy to prepare and enjoy nutritional shake product,then this may be for you. I ordered the vanilla flavor and have been mixing it up and here is what I think about it all. The product’s called Shape by Orenda International, which formulates and distributes a variety of nutritional supplement products. This Shape shake is vegetarian, non-GMO, non-dairy and gluten free. You can use it as a ready to go meal by just mixing up a scoop with water about 1.5 to 2 cups of water or your favorite unsweetened plant based beverage. I like that it has a nice variety of ingredients…it is basically a high quality protein formulation (blend of Pea Protein, Organic Brown Rice Protein, Organic Flax Meal and a variety of super-foods, fiber, vitamins and minerals. Each serving using 1 scoop offers 15 grams of protein, 1.5 grams of fat, 3 grams of fiber, 13 grams of carbs, of which 9 grams are from added sugars. They added organic cane sugar, I believe to make it tasty for the consumer. I would have preferred if they would have added zero sugar, as I would add my own sweetness with a natural ripe banana. As it is, I don’t mind the taste. I find it tasty with water or unsweetened almond, soy or oat milk. All in all, this is a convenient to prepare nutrient dense nutritional shake to enjoy when you’re in a hurry or anytime. Just be prepared to know that for all this goodness each container of this nutritional powerhouse contains 16 servings (16 scoops), and at the present price each serving s about $5.

   Taste is good. The vanilla isn’t bad at all and most plant-based protein shakes have a tough time hitting the mark. I had no issues with clumping or chunks which was nice. Mixes well. Ingredients are mostly excellent. The real problem here is pricing. Only 16 servings in the tub which puts this at a tiny bit over $5 per serving. There are other alternatives out there. I can’t recommend this for that reason alone.

   This is an interesting mix. The first thing that jumped out at me was the price point, it’s not something I’d normally buy at this price point. It seems to be a high-quality product in terms of the ingredients. It has room for improvement in terms of the taste, also it is a little hard to mix it up, but I guess that is to be expected to most drink mixes of this type. It has a 1-year shelf life, and is sealed to keep out moisture. This might be really good for you, but getting it down is the tricky part. I normally drink vanilla whey protein drinks with milk or ice water, and the vanilla flavoring helps it go down. But with this, there’s really nothing to help it go down, especially with a full serving (i.e,., adding 16 oz water). In summary, this is a fine drink mmix if you’re more concerned with quality ingredients versus the taste. You do have to be willing to pay a premium to enjoy the difference.

   This is honestly the first time I’ve read through an ingredient list on protein powder without cringing. It’s all actually great stuff, and it includes the type of proteins that a lot of my favorite health experts argue are more bioavailable than whey proteins (which is really just a cheap cheese byproduct). One such example of premium ingredient is that they choose to use cane sugar instead of sucralose (Splenda). When looking at macros, many would be turned off by the carb calories. I’d personally much rather take the real sugar over an artificial one that has an increasing amount of alarming, concerning research (it’ll kill your dog, for example..). It’s been a long time since I’ve even tried plant protein because usually the taste is entirely abhorrent. Approaching this with those reservations, I can’t say that I entirely agree with the taste of this either, but it’s actually not half bad. It’s drinkable on its own, but shines in green smoothies, where it actually blends well and enhances the taste. I think it would overpower fruit smoothies, though. It mixes very easily, even with just a spoon. So will I make this my main protein? Currently, I think the price is the main hurdle for me. I usually use protein once a day, so this would be $170/month. Or, comparing cost to gram of protein, this is over 8x as expensive as my normal whey protein. This is much harder for me to choke down than the taste, but I understand that you have to pay for a quality product with quality ingredients, which this definitely seems to be.

   I use this powder whenever I make breakfast smoothies, to increase the protein and nutrition factor and as a substitute for sugar or honey. It adds a little sweetness and vanilla taste, but doesn’t change the texture or base flavor of smoothies, in my experience. I only add about a tablespoon to a blenderful of fruit and liquids, so this powder isn’t much in proportion to the other ingredients. At first, I was skeptical that this would be a subtle additive, as in the jar it looks very powdery and a little greenish, but when added to other ingredients and blended, it becomes virtually invisible. I like that it’s plant-based and dairy-free, and it seems to be easy to digest.
