Check out the amount of sodium and carbs per serving. I should have done so before choosing this product. Because I can’t afford to absorb this much sodium–570mg or one quarter of my daily intake. Nor do I like that this protein shake has so much more carbs than my usual Premiere–11 grams, and less protein–21 grams.
If you have no problem adding more salt to your diet, and don’t need to watch your carbs carefully, go for this! It does have the best taste I’ve found in a protein shake. And not too sweet. Very flavorful!

This vegan protein powder mixes relatively well with water. I did find that the protein drink was slightly gritty – but it’s not gritty enough to be concerning/annoying.
My biggest concern with the protein powder is the flavor (I received the Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor). The flavor is somewhat strange. It’s like a burnt chocolate taste. I can’t really taste the PB flavoring. I’m not sure if it’s because of the sodium level per serving (570 mg). From my perspective, I would lean towards getting either the Chocolate or Milk Chocolate flavors over the Chocolate PB flavor.
The product does provide a decent amount of protein per serving (21g). This is good – especially for a vegan/plant based protein. However, I can only give the powder 3 stars (docking 2 stars for the flavor).

Nutricost Organic Vegan Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter is a plant-based protein powder. It’s certified USDA organic, meaning it’s made with ingredients that are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. It’s free of animal products, making it suitable for vegans and those with dairy allergies. The 5-pound container provides a significant amount of protein powder, making it a good value for frequent users.

The flavor on this is just…horrific. It tastes like a fake chemical peanut butter cup. We had to throw most of this out, as we tried for multiple times and couldn’t choke it down. We are avid protein mix drinkers and don’t expect it to to taste amazing (I’ve yet to find one that I actually truly enjoy drinking), but the sweeteners mixed with the flavor profile of this made it almost impossible to use for my husband and me, which is a shame. We were so looking forward to using this and seeing if we liked it. But a much smaller size and try it first if interested.

This is pretty good. Flavor-wise, it’s a bit salty and bitter…like a bitter salty dark chocolate with a very mild hint of peanut butter (not entirely unexpected due to the 570 mg of sodium and 200 mg of potassium per serving). If you don’t like salty stuff, this is probably going to be a miss for you.
It mixes up really nice in water though, no clumping and doesn’t turn into a thick sludge like some plant-based protein powders do (unless you use absurd amounts of water which I don’t like to do, just 8oz of water with 1 scoop is perfect here). I also really appreciate that it is organic at a relatively good value.
I try to use plant protein in place of whey wherever I can due to lactose sensitivity and thankfully this doesn’t bother my stomach at all. My only complaint is the saltiness, if this was slightly less salty I think it would be a 10/10.

Had a high opinion at first, but after a couple weeks of adding this to my meal routine (3-4 times a week), I started having GI problems that were eventually tracked back to using this protein powder.
Blends average, tastes fine, has high enough protein content for a vegan powder.
The OTHER issue I have is with the artificial sweetener. Sugar alcohols and artificial sweeteners tend to trigger my migraines. Very tired with protein powders running away from real sugar. Would rather it taste like dirt with a low content of cane sugar, than have an artificial sweetener aftertaste that triggers migraines and may contribute to GI issues.
