   We usually do whey protein or egg protein daily. This is a new one for us. Comes in a resealable bag but the resealable portion malfunctions and takes longer to close than necessary. CONS: -Smells like beef which weird -Tastes like vanilla-ish which isn’t terrible until you remember that it smells like bone broth. -Doesn’t blend very well. (See pic). -Price could be more competitive (per serving we shoot to pay $1 or less just because we do take it daily and it definitely adds up) PROS: +Not overly sweet (I count this as a pro imo but I am sure others may disagree) +Good amount of protein for low calories +Good vitamins I would not order again because it doesn’t mix well and other protein powders taste much better, imo.

   I just don’t understand how protein powder has gotten so expensive over the last five or six years. So let’s start with the pros, this product has a unique taste different from other protein powders. Personally I like the taste. It’s like taking a bite of a plain burger and washing it down with a vanilla shake. It seems like the ingredients nutrient wise are probably more effective than just some Whey concentrate or other isolate. The cons Mixability wise it globs up with a mild gel around the powder itself. For less than a 2 lb the price is out of the average consumer’s supplement budget. It seems like a quality product that needs the formula tweaked a bit. It’s worth try if you want to spend the bucks

   Personally, taste is an important factor when deciding on protein powder. My preference is always whey isolate over any other plant or animal derived proteins, whether it’s pea, soy, eggs or beef isolate in this case. So what the heck is beef protein isolate if not derived from whey or casein? Apparently, you boil a batch of beef and skim the fat, then the resulting liquid is dried and you end up with this stuff. If you are a strict adherent of paleo diet, I guess even whey or casein protein is not for you since the stone age people most likely ate the buffalo and not drank their milk, lol. In terms of quality of the protein, beef isolate is somewhat comparable with whey protein but overall, whey protein is superior. In short, beef protein isolate contains lower bioavailability of protein and lower leucine content (a type of amino acid that helps to trigger protein synthesis) when compared to whey protein. Although subjective, whey protein also tastes better and dissolves much better when mixed in a shaker bottle with either milk or water. Furthermore, this particular formula is sweetened with Stevia which some people find objectionable because it imparts bitter or metallic aftertaste. While some people claim they don’t tolerate whey protein well due to lactose intolerance, many whey protein formulations contain enzymes to help break down residual lactose found in whey protein. ——————————————————————- Disadvantages: 1) Beef protein isolate doesn’t taste good, some find it horrid, although I wouldn’t go that far; 2) Protein bioavailability is inferior to whey protein; 3) Use of Stevia as a sweetener might be objectionable; 4) Does not mix well; 5) Usually costs more per ounce/serving than whey protein; ——————————————————————- Advantage: 1) IF you are a strict paleo diet believer, it might be your only choice of protein powder, taste be damned; 2) If you are severely lactose intolerant, or allergic to whey but you are not vegan/vegetarian, it might be a good alternative to plant protein; 3) High in collagen, if that matters to you;

   The flavor isn’t bad, although I have had far better vanilla protein shakes. The trouble is that it takes longer than most to mix fully, even with a shaker bottle.

   Pro tip: shake it vigorously, let it sit for about 5 minutes, then shake it again. This will help remove about 90% of the clumps.

   I have tried every way to try to use this powder, but it just taste horrible. I have tried it hot. I have tried it cold. I have tried it mixed with coffee. I have tried it mixed with flavor flavoring and it taste horrible. The Stevia overpowers any other taste and leaves the bitter after taste that I hate

    NativePath Complete (Beef) Protein in Vanilla has a lot of good things going for it-
    Grass Fed,
    no artificial sweeteners, flavors or preservatives,
    free of whey, dairy, gluten, grain and seed oils
    has coconut MCTs too

    Negatives:
    Unfortunately, it doesn’t mix well and requires a whisk or blender because it is very clumpy in warm water.
    The beef flavor shines through the vanilla, so it is definitely an acquired taste.
