   Protein powders can be a mixed bag flavor and texture wise. I was interested to see what this was like being whey based but animal free. It’s a neat concept for folks who are lactose intolerant. I’m a bariatric patient and I have at least one protein shake a day to get my protein in for the day. I usually have it in iced form with 2 shots of espresso, like an iced latte. I mixed up a scoop and a half of the powder (to get 30g of protein) with 5 oz water and 2 oz of fairlife fat free milk. It is VERY thick this way, but I’m sure that’s the extra half scoop in the regular amount of liquid. It smells amazing, more like a churro than cinnamon cereal. I smelled butter, sugar and cinnamon. I fill up my cup with ice and add in my two shots and mix it all up. The melted ice helps water down the thick mix. The combination for me is perfect, it tastes like a yummy cinnamon latte. I think I can taste some of that butter I smelled too. I like that it’s not grainy and there’s no weird after taste, it’s easy on my tummy too. I would definitely buy this again!

   I hate to give a low review because I believe in animal-free whey, but I don’t like the added flavor. It’s sweet but in a bad and overpowering/artificial way (and I am by no means anti-artificial flavors/sweeteners). I would prefer to have the option to buy an unflavored animal-free whey protein to add to my smoothies/shakes. Based on animal-free whey protein I have tried from other brands I feel like the thing really holding these types of products back are the awful flavors being offered to consumers. I think we want a clean neutral tasting animal-free alternative to conventional whey… Whey just tastes better and mixes more easily than plant protein so it should be an easy sell to those following a plant-based diet, but these companies have found a way to make it a hard sell. The future for animal-free whey isn’t looking too bright… just my thoughts.

   This whey protein supplement really does taste like cinnamon cereal milk so if you’re into that kind of thing you’re really going to enjoy this flavor. This is the first non-animal whey protein supplement I’ve ever tried and honestly I can’t tell a difference. The consistency was very similar to an animal based whey protein and the flavor was very good. This protein powder mixed up well with my shaker bottle but I did make sure to put in my metal shaker ball. Overall I think this flavor and formula is great and I think you should give it a try!

   Favorite whey protein! I love whey protein but haaaaate dairy farming, so this is truly the best of both worlds. I hope they come out with even more flavors and maybe a plain one too for baking. Huge fan of the taste, especially mixed in with greek yogurt and it doesn’t hurt my stomach like some dairy protein does.

   Taste is perfect, can’t really taste the protein at all just the flavors. 20g scoop sometimes I’ll double depending on what exercise I do before. Blending is very easy if you have a shaker, but in a blender sometimes will clump up. 5/5 from me!

Summary: This Vine review is for three (3) Myprotein offerings (two are “whey FWRD”, which is a recovery offering, and the other is a straight whey powder offering. Observations: Myprotein has 34 items offered, but most are duplicates or other flavors, really only eight (8) unique products. The whey FWRD doesn’t really explain what makes it a recovery centric product. Recommendation: There are a few sources for protein offerings: whey and pea being the two most prevalent. I found that pea protein makes me really gassy, so lately (past year), I have been seeing of whey based is any better for my digestive system. Pros: Made in the USA per product images; cost is average at $2.00/serving. Cons: Nutrition Facts (supplement % daily values) missing for the whey FWRD recovery offerings (at time of review); fully ingredient list missing (recover).    Bought the cinnamon cereal flavor. Got a nasty bout of food poisoning after drinking it the first time. Chalked it up to food at a holiday potluck the day before, but I tried it again a week later with the same result. Not sure if it was a bad batch or if it just doesn’t sit right with my stomach, but wishing I could go back in time and not ingest this. Writing this review from my bathroom floor.

   This product by Myprotein is cleverly called Whey Forward and is made using a plant based protein that is actually created using microflora, which are also found in your digestive system. I have used a variety of protein powders over the years with recovery drinks after long workouts but this is the first plant based protein I have tried and mostly as an additional ingredient in my smoothies or protein shakes. From a flavor standpoint, the Cinnamon Cereal has a very strong vanilla flavor but is also exceptionally sweet. I was disappointed to discover upon closer inspection of the ingredients that it uses sucralose (AKA Splenda) which is about 600x sweeter than regular sugar. I understand that a lot of protein powders and drinks use sucralose as it is derived from sugar, but it may have some negative health effects for some. There’s a lot of information out there on this sweetener so you’ll need to decide for yourself if it is worth consuming. The other ingredients are fairly typical although there is little information on how the protein is actually made and also not much information shown in the product images. Surprisingly, the Cinnamon Cereal flavor does not indicate any actual cinnamon used in the product, only “natural flavor”. At the current price of $41.99 it seems comparable at first but this only provides 20 servings according to the label. However, I’ve found that I’ll use less than half a scoop with about 10oz of liquid otherwise the sweetness is “whey” too excessive for me. Although the canister is quite large, there’s a lot of empty space inside when you first open it up as the powder only fills it half full. The powder is very light and fluffy but it does seem like the product would fit in a smaller container and take up less cupboard space. Considering this along with some of the ingredients, I can only give this 3 stars.

    So I’ve had just about everything ever made where protein powders go and this is now one of my favorite. I’d have to say the taste reminds me a bit of Apple Jacks cereal. So just know that it isn’t a ‘neutral’ / plain tasting powder. Consistence, ability to disolve in milk, water or oat milk or almond milk and shakes – is as you would expect with any protien powder. I like that the recommended amount is only 1 scoop for 20 Grams of protein…this way the powder flavor doesn’t overwhelm you in shakes and it doesn’t thicken smoothies too much. I also liked the labeling – in addition to the content label. There is a large ‘expiration’ date on the side – great to know you are getting a fresh – recently manufactured product. There are 20 servings per container. And it’s made in America – Shepherdsville, KY!

    My wife told me a shake made with Myprotein® – WHEY Forward tastes like an ice cream sundae. It’s very creamy which is usually the hallmark of a quality whey protein. I’m intrigued by this one because the protein is bio-engineered whey rather than animal by-product. The process is supposedly better for the planet so I’m all for that.

    Made into a shake, it seems to digest well and produces a thick, creamy concoction when blended. The cinnamon cereal flavor is spot on and tasty. I’d get this one again! Best by 04/28/2024.

    Wow! This protein is packed with flavor. I mixed it with almond milk and a frozen banana. It’s reminiscent of cinnamon toast crunch cereal. It’s also packed with what I look for in a protein powder high protein 20g, no sugar and no soy. It also has BCAAs which help with muscle recovery, making it perfect for post-workout consumption. The only downside is that the container is only half full, which is a bit disappointing. Despite this, it’s a good protein powder. Recommended.

    This protein powder was delicious yet, sweet but it does have an aspartame taste to it. I tried it with almond milk and I can’t wait to try it with some other fruit variations. It does have in artificial aftertaste, but I guess that’s should be expected since it’s zero sugar in it. I mixed it with 6 ounces of almond milk and it was kind of thick so I did 8 ounces of almond milk and it was perfect. Overall, I would buy it again because it’s animal free, 20g protein per serving and sugar free

    It’s a pretty good tasting light cinnamon animal free protein drink. It’s sweetened with sucralose and is a little sweeter than I like but for those with a sweet tooth I think this would be perfect.. > I’ve had this several mornings in a row and can say that this makes me feel more satisficed than some drinks and stays with me a little longer. And although it’s sweet, it does not upset my stomach like other sweet drinks have. It’s produced through fermentation using tiny organisms called microflora which are fed plant sugars that they convert into dairy-identical protein. > This is great for the plant, EG: uses 99% less water and emits up to 97% less emissions. A serving is one scoop in 6-8 oz water or milk – container = 20. In 8 oz it’s full flavored but a little watery – very easy to swallow.

    I love the taste of the Whey Forward Cinnamon Cereal protein powder. Animal free with 20G of protein. Zero sugar. I am not a huge fan of sucralose, but it is not a deal breaker. This powder mixes up very smooth so there is no gritty taste. I also love that is is super low calorie.
