Ugh! I’ve been so out of it since my ankle surgery (strong meds) and pretty much riding alone through this journey. I was so excited to have found a product like this but (my fault) I did not pay attention to the ingredients and paid what, $70? For this power that contains MILK. =[ First of all it tastes SO AWFUL, even mixing it within a green juice smoothie (which is intense with its celery and ginger and banana) can still taste this awful medicine kind of flavor. And I am pretty good with dealing with gross flavors or very bland flavors. This one though took me out! Not only am I Vegan but due to other underlying medical conditions (Hidradenitis Suppurativa aka HS), dairy is a HUGE no-no! I’m so upset because I’ve just finished a 90 day course of heavy antibiotics that had me nauseous for pretty much the entire time just to get new and recurring flares back! So it tastes bad and has dairy. Huge fails for me. I really wish I could return the product or at least get some kind of refund but unfortunately NO REFUNDS on this. </3
What do I do with this?
Donate it? Resell it? Throw it in the trash?

It mixes well. Not sure if it helped in recovery but I did drink it. Full of vitamins so it can’t hurt .

I started drinking this on doctors orders. The citrus flavor is lousy on its own and even worse with milk. Orange and pineapple juices help. I found cranberry worked best.
Doesn’t mix easily. I use a stick blender. A little fruit and yogurt makes a passable smoothie.

My orthopedic surgeon is very nutrition oriented focusing on both foods that help the body heal and that are anti-inflammatory. He feels inflammation is what causes pain during recovery. He suggested using Mend the week before and for a month after my knee replacement.
Flavor reminds me of Tang but mixed with lots of ice is palatable. One canister was enough for twice a day for the five weeks.
Friends who have had same surgery can’t believe that I have needed no opioids, very few of the non opioid prescription pain med and used Tylenol. I have recovered more quickly than they did. Is it the Mend? I can’t say for sure but I feel it was a good investment.
I would recommend it for anyone working to recover from major surgery if you can afford it.

I never leave reviews, but feel like for the cost of this stuff, I would share my experience. This was suggested by my surgeon after join replacement. All I can say is BELIEVE THE REVIEWS that say it tastes a.w.e.f.u.l. I regularly use protein powders and understand that not everything can taste “great”. But, no matter what I mixed it with, and I tried a lot, I could not choke it down. Find something else.
