Love this protein powder. We use it in our morning smoothies (mixed with juice, banana, yogurt, chia seeds, coconut water, and whatever frozen fruit we have), as well as in oatmeal. Keeps you going for the whole morning and even through a cardio workout. It is nice not to have extra sweeteners added to your protein powder, as I am sensitive to the taste of those “natural” sweeteners that other mixes contain (e.g. stevia). This powder is vegan, too, if that is your leaning. I find it mixes well (but I either use a Blendtec for smoothies, or cook it into my oatmeal). If you find it on sale, you can buy extra and store it in the freezer. Love this stuff!

I tried the HEMP PRO 70 and did not realize that there was such a difference between 50 and 70.
This is gritty although it mixes well, it tastes like fine sand if you use what is recommended and your drink or food has no other texture of it’s own. The 70 was a fine powder that mixed in and just disappeared into the texture like a good little protein powder should.
The 50 still makes me feel great though, I just have to adapt my routine and I now use it in oatmeal or baked goods more than in drinks.
I bought a 2 pack. OOOOOOPS!!
This is tolerable in thick smoothies but I can’t take the grit in more liquid drinks.
Not buying this again, I love the PRO70 better.

Hemp is probably the best form of green protein. I don’t like taking Whey and other forms of protein because it’s derived from cows milk. That in itself is not a problem except what goes into the cows. Most cows are not grass fed and full of antibiotics and other toxins. This naturally gets transferred into the milk and into the protein powders. Hemp protein is as powerful without the other negatives. Plus it has many other natural nutrients that most other protein powder types don’t have.
This Hemp protein powder is a bit harsh on the taste buds but well worth the benefits you receive. If you can’t stomach this one, I would recommend shopping around the different Hemp protein producers and finding one that is more pleasing to the tongue. Either way, Hemp protein is the way to go. My second choice would be Spirulina.

really? i read reviews that said this 50 is better tasting and mixes in smoother than the 70. not at all. this is total grit. you definitely can’t shake it up, it needs major blending and lots of other ingredients. at least with the 70 i can shake it up and drink it, and a few drops of stevia covers the taste. now i have to find creative uses for these 2 tubs…

I’m a big believer in hemp protein. I’m a runner and I eat it almost every day. Since I’ve started eating hemp I have more energy throughout the day and I don’t get as low as I did before when I become hungry. I will say that my favorite hemp powder is the Navitas brand. It’s somewhat finer and a bit better tasting than the Manitoba Harvest brand. I get this because it’s much more affordable at this point. MH brand is still quite pleasant tasting though.
I don’t understand the people who complain about hemp protein’s taste! You’re not supposed to eat it by itself! I mix it with some Agave nectar, Banana, kefir yogurt, whole or coconut milk, some cacao powder, coconut oil, and maybe a raw egg. It tastes good and I’m sure I could make it even better with some berries. If you haven’t tried hemp protein before, do yourself a favor and have a shake for breakfast every morning for a week and see how much better you feel throughout the day and how much less you crave the normal, crappy food you gravitate towards because you’re not getting enough nutrition.
I know this review is all over the place but, suffice it to say, I’m now ordering the 5 pound tub of MH Pro 50 as it seems to be the best deal and I’m very pleased with the quality.

I love this product by Manitoba Harvest. I used it instead of whey in my blender drinks. It’s great with a banana, ice, bit of soy milk, 2 tablespoons of the powder and agave…you can switch it up by adding cocoa or peanut butter to it too. With both of those add-ins, the hemp isn’t really noticeable by taste (only with the color of the drink)…but after a while making it like that, I’m pretty used to the taste and can have it without the add in ingredients too.
It’s a great source of protein for people who don’t want whey or, like me, don’t want to overuse soy as a protein source.
They have organic available in this product, but the regular one is made with out pesticides and isn’t GMO…
I have yet to try it in other things like sprinkled on salads (it has a gritty/nutty taste) or baked in anything…
