I’ve used this product before. It’s crickets… It tastes like crickets which is kind of gross but it’s an excellent protein source that seems to have a much different effect on stamina compared to protein sources like vegetable or whey. I like it and I like the price.

Well I bought randomly due to buds cricket powder being out of stock, the taste isn’t as good and this product isn’t completely powder, it has some whole cricket randomly which is gross to say the least never the less the taste is doable.

I find the taste of this cricket powder is similar to other brands but the cost is lower. I will keep purchasing from them.

I get this as a supplement for some of my crested geckos that don’t like to eat bugs for some additional protein to mix with their pangea. The price of cricket powder is pretty excessive in my opinion, but thankfully I don’t go through it too fast.

Then the description also protien source says beef. That’s hilarious.

I’ve read all the research about how cricket powder is better than other types of protein powder (for the body, for the planet, and so on), so despite being twice as expensive I thought I’d try it. I’ve eaten cricket tacos in Mexico (which were delicious), so I thought “What the heck?” Well — Be prepared. It has a very, very strong taste that overwhelms your smoothie or anything else you add protein powder to. NOT pleasant or “mild”! I had to buy a tub of strawberry flavored whey protein powder, and mix the two together 50/50. Then it’s “OK” to the point where it doesn’t *ruin* my daily smoothie.
If it were the same cost as whey protein powder I might buy it again, given the benefits. BUT being that it’s literally 2 to 3 times more expensive, I don’t think so.

I do not have a sensitive gag reflex but for some reason this makes me sick. First time I had 2 scoops and I was throwing up all night. I tried again with 1 scoop, same thing. I had to throw it all out – and I bought 2 bags. It was a bad experience for me.

I really wanted to like cricket powder. I really really wanted to love a sustainable and healthy source of protien that I could use in smoothies and other recipes. Unfortunately cricket powder has a strong musky odor. I recognized the smell instantly from pet shops that sell crickets. I first tried a teaspoon of the powder in an 18 oz fruit smoothy. Despite the smoothy being thick with berries and yogurt, the small amount of cricket powder changed the flavor / smell enuogh that I couldn’t finish it. It tastes like it smells…it is gritty too. The grittiness didn’t soften up after sitting in the smoothy for over an hour. it just stays smelly and gritty. I guess if you are making a recipe that includes sand along with strong flavors then you can hide the the grit, smell, and flavor.
