Purchased as a replacement for whey protein due to the fact that it gives me stomach problems. This product seemed like a perfect replacement! However I’m having a hard time finding ways to blend or mix. -used it in a smoothie of foamed up completely -used it in a shaker with electrolytes foamed up -used it in cold almond milk clumped up wouldn’t break down So the best way that I’ve learned is whisking in boiled or hot almond milk and then adding that to my hot coffee. I have yet to try in a soup as it seems the liquid needs to be hot in order for it to dissolve fully. Altogether, very thick, doesn’t dissolve easily, no stomach issues so far.

I thought mine didn’t come with a scoop but I realized it was at the bottom of the container. So I scooped out the scoop with a spoon, which made some of the powder fly everywhere. And it didn’t come with a recommended use manual. So I’m assuming I just use 1 scoop per day? Anyway, it was way too hot out for warm liquids so I mixed it in cold water which took a while to mix but, it’s worth it. The taste isn’t too bad either…

I love this protein powder! My family and I (four of us) go through about 1.5 tubs every month. We put it in our smoothies. I received my product and did not have any issues with smell or taste. I’m probably in the minority here however in how I consume this product. I’ve tried drinking bone broth powder before and it’s just not enjoyable. Instead, I found that if I mix it with my food it really enhances the taste for me and I enjoy the ‘tackiness’ the collagen creates when it’s mixed. Quite like collagen taffy. You have to be careful how you handle it though as it can get quite sticky if it gets on your fingers. Anyways, these guys came through when my last go to collagen provider discontinued. I’ve tried this bone broth protein powder a number of ways and really enjoy it! I’ve blended it with my coffee with and without Multi-Collagen, and have added it to my Bone Broth as well. I feel the protein powder has no added unpleasant taste and also seems to really add depth and creaminess! In the bone broth it seemingly made the broth feel more like a meal— it’s filling, warm, and savory! And, in coffee it also is more filling, as well! How is this called a broth if in cold, warm or hot water it makes all these big clumps that won’t dissolve? These clumps also harden and stick to your bowl so you have to scrape them off with your fingernail. I don’t recommend this product for those 2 reasons.

This product makes a really nice base for smoothies! I use a stick mixer on its lowest setting to blend, which provides just the right texture I enjoy with a smooth foam (photo is with beets, pumpkin puree etc). The powder itself doesn’t look or smell too dissimilar to “regular” protein powders. I’ve only tried it with veggie bases so far but think it will work well with fruits, too (when it comes to smoothies there are a kajillion recipes out there to try…). The flavor doesn’t seem to be very “meaty” at all like I initially thought it would be. No issues with my stomach or bloating, either. Our dogs also really enjoy getting the odd spoonful mixed into their meals as well 😉 Overall, I think this is a good value product and it offers all the health benefits for skin, joints and gut that I need.

This product interested me because of the collagen. I’ve been wanting something to strengthen my hair and nails, and this seemed like a product that could do that. At first, the smell was kind of off for me, but when I blended it into a smoothie the smell basically disappeared. I used this when I was pregnant and after because a previous powder I tried had a weird flavor and I couldn’t use cow milk with it because that would give the other a weird flavor otherwise. This one I can use with regular milk and it’s delicious but I add baking cocoa powder for my shakes. I love that it has more protein than most and it’s strictly bone broth with no additives and it’s grass fed so the vitamins in it are built correctly. And it has great levels of collagen! It really doesn’t have a flavor which is preferable to me over vanilla/chocolate. The quality of the product is more important than the slight difficulty I have blending it. It blends with cold for a shake and I use my nutribullet for it but it sticks to the side of the cup so I have to take a utinsel to the side of my container once done to get that bit to mix in (and it sticks to my hands from the handle of the scoop). It also takes a bit of time to mix in hot water with a whisk so I’ll still use my nutribullet with hot water and the powder just to mix it. Quality of product over the little extra effort of mixing.

I love that you can add this to coffee and ot does not change the flavor. It gives coffee a creamier texture. Mixes in hot liquids, but you will still need a hand blender and it’s best to pour in the powder slowly as you’re blending. I use this to make my keto coffee and I think the MCT oil helps to control the foam people are complaining about. Same thing with smoothies, you can add this to smoothies and if adding olive or MCT oil it controls the foam.

I’ve been sipping this bone broth, most mornings, for over a month. I like to make a big batch in advance and then ladle out what I want in the morning. Completely agree to take your time and use a fork to blend. Adding fresh ginger or adding miso paste definitely adds some fun flavor. Also, I’ve included two photos that show how this goes to an almost jelly type format when refrigerated, showing the collagen. This is what I expect when I make my own bone broths. I initially purchased this for myself, but couldn’t stomach the taste. Very boviney even when mixed into shakes. I needed a supplement that had a good amount of protein, and seeing this one with collagen sealed the deal for me. Love a 2-for-1!! I have added this to both protein coffee and oatmeal. I use 2 scoops of Javvy protein coffee and one scoop of bone broth powder to 16 oz of filtered water. Shaking it up in a blenderbottle does cause froth, but the froth dissipates within 5 minutes. It has no taste in coffee. In oatmeal I use one scoop, and I can’t taste it either, but I also add strawberries and a drizzle of honey and cinnamon, so that could be masking the flavor. Adding the bone broth powder causes half a cup of oatmeal to a cup of water to thin out and be runny, so if runny oatmeal isn’t your thing, keep that in mind.
I’ve only been using this for about a week or two, but it’s been great so far. 🙂 No hunger cravings, I feel full for longer, and it doesn’t bother me digestion wise which is great.

Beware, flavored products contain erythritol. Why would you ruin a great product by adding an unhealthy artificial sweetener? My fault for missing this as I reviewed the label for the unflavored version, then selected chocolate on checkout. Look, you gotta know all the differences between hydrolyzed powder vs concentrate powder, also bone bovine vs skin (hide) bovine, then after that you can expect smthg. This is bone powder, organic, it supposed to be great BUT only if you can tolerate the taste. Ohhh, and another thing, look for the ingredients, if it says sodium more than 20-50mg (like in this powder it’s much more than that), than it’s impossible to use it in sweet shakes, I threw it away 3 tries. Only if you can bland it with smthg that has heavy taste, than maybe you can kill this taste of sodium bullion. I also tried in instant soup, and it ruined it also; for me it’s just not palatable, even though it supposed to be a great organic bone powder. I tried twice and just couldn’t, my son keeps trying. I will update you with his tries.

Traditional protein powders are too sweet for me. I like that this product is unflavored. I blend with iced coffee. I add about an inch of iced coffee to my cup, add a scoop of powder, then blend with my immersion blender. After that I add the rest of my coffee, ice and milk. Adding ice at the end keeps it from clumping. Starting with a small amount of liquid keeps it from getting too foamy. I will purchase this again!

Given the lead and other contaminants being found in similar products these days, I contacted the manufacturer and asked them: “Could you please tell me how much regular safety testing is done on your Bone Broth Powder, e.g. X002AY5EXD? Is there any testing by NSF, USP, or Consumer Lab?” I consider their response a non-answer. It included the phrases “… ingredients in our product are tested on the supplier’s end. In addition, we run third-party testing on the finished products …“ and “… our Third-Party testing information/analysis is proprietary …”. My interpretation: they’ll blame the supplier if anything goes wrong and if they do find problems, they’re going to keep them secret. It turns out a Google search will find similar products from manufacturers who clearly state their safety testing up front. I won’t be buying any more of this product.
