   Had this for a few weeks before opening so unfortunately I can’t send it back. My fiancé buys Kaged Muscle products but I decided to try this instead because Kaged uses a bit of Splenda (along with stevia) to sweeten. I shouldn’t have done that! Ack! The Ascent protein is like drinking chalk. 🙁 I ordered the chocolate version which has such a mild flavor that you wouldn’t know it’s chocolate if they didn’t tell you. It’s also twice as much as Kaged. When my fiancé mixes his protein drinks which is supposed to have the same type of protein they get slightly fizzy due to the fermentation process this type of casein goes through. The fermenting helps a lot if you have a dairy allergy and we both stay gluten and dairy free with the exception of our protein. My fiancé is lactose intolerant but I just have a slight sensitivity so I can’t say for sure how this compares to Kaged in that way as I was not able to choke down a full drink on a few different occasions. But that said I was disappointed to see that the Ascent doesn’t fizz at all and has a heavy feel to it besides the grittiness. Whereas the Kaged is more light and airy. I am giving this 2 stars because hopefully I’ll be able to salvage the bag and use in some type of protein bar or something. But overall a waste of $50. 🙁

   It’s filling and good to have at night not only to satisfy sweet cravings, but also to control hunger. It also has the ability to be mixed with less liquid to make a thicker consistency. I like to have mine with a pudding consistency as a dessert.

   I keep a steady stock of Ascent Native Fuel on hand for many needs and purposes. Vanilla Bean is the best tasting Vanilla Whey I have ever laid lips on and is my daily use, Chocolate makes for awesome whey to cook healthy, sweet treats and awesome post dinner indulgent shakes with and the Unflavored I use in the mornings with almond milk for a nice wake me up. I also use their Micellar Casein every night before bed for slow release recovery and it makes an awesome casein pudding. For the important parts, this is a very lean protein profile made from natural processes and ingredients. I am in the gym with very heavy activity6 – 7 days per week with varying lifts of 1000 rep programs, supersets, and full concentration workouts and find recovery better with Ascent than any other protein Ive used and rebuilding muscle for the following gym day has yet to meet me with down time. Additionally I travel 45 weeks or more per year and the ability to easily roll/fold up the bag and keep and air tight seal without having to pack white powder in un-marked baggies or carry a big tub that takes up far too much space in my luggage is a huge packaging plus. Their single serving pouches makes for friendly race day carry along I highly recommend the use of Ascent.

   5 stars. A quality addition/alternative to whey protein. It does thicken liquid when mixed in unless you drink it fairly quickly. On the plus side, this thickening characteristic makes it more economical; it can be mixed with water instead of milk or synthetic milk products like almond milk.

   Switched to this in a search for replacement from kaged case in Product ingredients seem fairly clean Taste is off a bit so I add a small scoop of vanilla whey to make up for it I mix with warm water and it blends well Will stick with this brand unless I find something better I feel like it helps to drink casein at night

   My gym coaches recommended the Ascent protein powders. Took some getting used to, I was used to sucralose, not stevia. But I adapted and like the product. Another gym member recommend I try the version with casein. The first time I tried it, I used a double scoop. Ughhhhh! It was thick like pudding, and the taste was so different than the other Ascent Native Chocolate, but I was at work and stuck with it. Since tried with more water and one scoop. Still not a fan. I will go back to the regular chocolate product. If samples are available, would recommend you try a sample or get one from a friend, before you waste your money. 😩

   Product tastes fine but mixes poorly. Worst thing is bloat and gastric distress. I love the whey from this brand but this product is not going to be used and of course no returns available. Order at your own risk….

    I bought 6 bags to be delivered 2x a year and was sent casein protein that expires in a few months. Normally, Ascent products arrive with a 1-2 year out expiration date. I don’t know if this is bestproteinpowder4women.net’s fault or Accent’s, but getting help with exchanging the protein I won’t be able to consume before the expiration is an annoying process since bestproteinpowder4women.net won’t take responsibility and Ascent’s customer service has gone severely downhill. Such a bummer. Their customer service used to be top notch when Derek was around!

    I ordered this product and was sent the wrong product twice last week. Both times, I received Ascent whey vanilla bean protein instead of the chocolate casein. Both vanilla bags were labeled incorrectly with the casein chocolate sticker. I tried to explain this after receiving the first wrong bag but it didn’t change what I received as a replacement for the first product. The actual casein chocolate product itself is amazing and I love the ascent protein brand. I just wish I got the right product.

    I’m really hoping this isn’t what I think it is but this looks like a smear of blood on the bag! I’m so mad I didn’t notice it when I first got it. I even opened it and had a serving of it. I am disgusted. Also, since I’ve consumed it I can review the taste and it taste absolutely horrid. It doesn’t even taste like vanilla. It’s some kind of weird fruity taste. It’s honestly indescribable. You can just taste how processed it is.

    I agree with a lot of the other reviewers about this protein powder. The taste is something that takes some getting used to, but I don’t find it that bad at all. I love that it doesn’t have any artificial sweeteners in it. My biggest problem is that it’s like trying to drink wet concrete. It’s so incredibly thick that I have to thin it down with about double the recommended liquid (milk in my case) to make it even possible for me to choke down. The consistency is pretty awful and I think it pretty much ruins the drink if you aren’t adding much more water/milk. If it wasn’t for that, I’d probably stick with this. Unfortunately I’ll be looking around for an alternative.

    I use this in my peanut butter protein bars. The vanilla doesn’t have taste that overpowers the other important ingredients. Comes with its own 1/2 cup measuring spoon.

    The package arrived leaking with a hole at the bottom. I thought this would affect the taste of the product or it’s quality. This is my first time buying it and it seems like it takes a few minutes to fully dissolve. I purchased this for its protein content. I have not noticed any issues after drinking it. I wish the package wasn’t poor quality and an inconvenience.
