   Summary: I ordered this protein mix because my wife and I wanted a good, clean protein that is not whey or soy-based. After reading about this brand’s protein powder, we decided to try it out. There are a couple of things we like about this protein: —natural ingredients without whey or soy —no added sugars; therefore, very low carb —Blends easily —Price of many protein mixes can be very high, but this one is average at $2.00 per serving. Cons: Not clear if made in the USA. Conclusion: At $30 for 15 servings, a reasonable price and great ingredients, rating this 4-stars.

   The container for this product is very unwieldy (not to mention partially filled, as others have noted). I have rather large hands for a woman, and I have trouble holding the container, to the point that I have almost dropped it on the floor twice, scattering powder everywhere. Why not use a narrower container and fill it up? I understand that the product is sold by weight, but that doesn’t mean you have to use an outsize plastic container, which is very wasteful. And for the people who said the product doesn’t taste good: hey, it’s made of ground-up seeds. What did you expect it to taste like—a milkshake? Add some fruit and berries and plant milk, and it will taste fine, especially if you put in some ice cubes. I like that it has only four ingredients and not a lot of add-ins.

   Tried this first mixed in a shaker bottle as per the instructions. The powder fully incorporated into the water. It had a mild pleasant taste and was slightly chalky. Did not mind it at all. I usually use my protein powder in smoothies. This made a yummy smoothie. Texture was good. Powder fully incorporated. When I just add seeds to my smoothie they sometimes feel a bit chunky/chewy. Of course I’m impressed with the nutrition profile, but what I like most about this naked seed powder is it doesn’t upset my stomach like whey protein. I would absolutely recommend this protein powder.

    This seed powder is interesting. They do automatically lose a star as the plastic container is half empty. I hate waste – especially plastic waste – plus then it takes up twice as much precious room in my kitchen as well. : ( Again – interesting. I suppose it is less processed than other protein powders as it is really just ground down seeds. It contains pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds and watermelon seeds. I am assuming you can even use this as a good gluten-free four replacer in baking as well because of the limited ingredients – but I have yet to try that. In smelling the container, it smells like food – maybe like a stock base or something. Not too potent or anything. The directions say to add two rounded scoops to 6 to 10 ounces of water. I split the difference and went with 8 ounces. Even after blending on high in my blender for more than 20 seconds it still came out somewhat starchy or chalky in texture. The taste isn’t terrible but not yummy either. It is actually pretty neutral actually. I could drink it plain without a problem but back into the blender it went where I added a banana and a handful of kale. I also added a few dates as it needed a slight bit of sweetness.     Naked Seed delivers good iron, potassium, calcium and incredible amino acids. Four finely ground seeds: Organic Pumpkin Seed Protein, Sunflower Seed Protein, Watermelon Seed Protein, Organic Chia Seed Protein. To me, the flavor is mild, with a hint of watermelon. I’ve added this to pancakes made with a mashed banana, egg, and oatmeal. My energy soared and I didn’t feel hungry for hours. I’ve added this to cookie batter that I made with no flour, substituting pea protein and other protein powders, plus half a cup of this Naked Seed blend. Incredible tasting, healthy cookies! This versatile seed powder could be added to a smoothie, too. I love the low carbs, low calories and high nutrition profile! I also appreciate that it has no artificial sweeteners or colors and that it’s GMO Free, and gluten free!

    Once upon a time I wonder what it would be like to have protein powder in my chili. I didn’t want chocolate flavor chili, so I hunted down this flavorless powder. Well, that was the worst chili I ever had. This stuff is like chalk powder – flavorless and powdery. That’s exactly what I wanted. The good news it that it does mix well with other things. I mixed it with a rice stir fry and I couldn’t even tell it was there. It makes for a nice protein boost when it mixes well. I recommend.

    I like the idea of this Naked Seed protein powder, and I like that it doesn’t have the usual whey or pea protein in it. I also like that it has a lot of potassium in it as well. However, there are some things I don’t like. First, it’s $30 for only 15 servings. Second, it tastes pretty chalky. Third, the powder is very sticky and doesn’t mix as easily as other protein powders I’ve used. Fourth, I don’t like how this is packaged. The container is twice the size it needs to be for the amount of powder you get. None of these are deal breakers for me, but they do add up to a number of small issues that make me a little disappointed in this.

    I bought this product because I can’t take any kind of protein isolates, whey, soy or pea. I didn’t expect good taste as it’s unflavored but the smell and flavor is SO strong that it is overpowering and there is nothing you can add to a smoothie that will cover it up. The texture is gravelly and chalky as well. It’s jsut awful, BUT it’s a very natural and healthy form of extra protein if you can’t take any other kind!

    I have bought other Naked products in the past and really enjoyed them. This one however was horrible! Even mixed in a smoothie, everyone who tried it (6 people) agreed the taste was almost rancid. It came sealed and has a best by stamp for over a year away so I’m not sure if this is the actual taste or if it was a bad batch. Despite being unable to eat it, and concerns it may be rancid, it is not returnable. Safe yourself the $30 and try one of their other products.

    Since I already use three of the four protein components of this powder, I already have a sense of familiarity with the potential of the product. The only one that I don’t already have in my protein resources is the watermelon seed protein. I appreciate that a 30 gram serving yields 20 grams of protein. Of note, it has only 1.5 grams of total fats (with 0 grams saturated/trans fat) and only 5 grams of Total Carbohydrates ( and that’s 5 grams of dietary fiber and 0 grams of total sugars!). The amino acid profile is typical of plant based proteins, which I find to be very respectable. It does lack tryptophan, which is not found in plant proteins. So, just be aware that this essential amino acid is not present in this protein mix. I added this to a cinnamon raisin bread recipe, using a bread machine. I used 2 scoops, in a 1.5 lb loaf recipe, adding a bit more water to balance the increase of dry components. I didn’t replace any flour, some people replace protein powder for flour on equal basis. I’ve found good results keeping the original recipe, just adding the protein powder with some additional water. For the additional 30 grams of powder, I added slightly under 1/8 cup of water to the existing recipe. After the 3 hours of the machine cycles of kneading, rising and baking, the loaf just needed some time to cool. It smelled too good to wait very long. We cut some slices. We couldn’t taste the plant protein, any flavor notes were masked by the cinnamon. So, we considered it a success, because you really just want a healthier product that tastes like cinnamon raisin bread. We like this plant protein product. However, at $30 for 15 servings might seem a bit pricey. But, considering the components of this plant protein blend, the pricing is reasonable. Consider that 1lb of Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder sells for $26,10 oz of Watermelon Seed Protein goes for over $22, Sunflower Seed Protein is over $30/pound. The least expensive, Chia Seed Protein, can be purchased for about $12 – $15/lb. (These are not the lowest costs, just random/representative examples of products and cost). So, with these cost considerations for the 4 ingredients of this plant protein blend, the cost is reasonable. I do have a slight concern that there are no certifications on the product label. I would have a higher regard, appreciation for the product if it had GMP, Good Manufacturing Practices, certification. I am basically satisfied with this plant protein mix. I’ll probably use it primarily for baking, to raise the healthy aspect. It earns a 4.5 – 4.75 star rating, with a high level recommendation.

    I rarely take the time to write online reviews but WOW. I’m genuinely impressed. I’m used to vegan protein powders having a grainy and sandy texture and basically ruining anything they touch. This blends silky smooth and it barely has any taste at all. Theres a slight pumpkin seed taste to it but it’s barely noticeable and it doesn’t bother me at all. It’s a little expensive so I wasn’t going to buy it again unless it was 5/5 stars and to my surprise it is.
