   This is one of the better clear whey isolates I have had so far. The foam actually settles down in around 1-1.5 minutes (which is great, some of these clear isolates never settle and you have to scoop out the foam) and there are only minimal curds left over after vigorous shaking with my shaker bottle. The taste is good. It’s not very sweet, so not a candy grape flavor but more of a muted grape flavor, it tastes good and is easily drinkable though. Just won’t satisfy a sweet tooth so be aware. I like it, good value too compared to others.

   The powder is very very fine and even just opening it and taking the seal off, I made a mess everywhere! It looks like finely milled flour and is just as messy. Finding the scoop was near impossible without making an even bigger mess that I ended up using a scoop I had left over from a different protein powder. With that aside, it mixes just fine in a blender shake bottle but it creates A LOT of foam. You do need to wait until it settles before drinking it. To me it tastes much better chilled (but still palatable at room temp) so I leave it in the fridge while the foam is settling. It has a lightly flavored grape taste and not overly sweet. Not the best clear whey protein powder but for the amount of protein and zero sugar, it makes a decent option.

   Tastes good, doesn’t mix up the best though at first. Shake it up well and let sit in fridge for a while while the powder chunks dissolve. Shipping took a week to receive, ordered another from Walmart.com while I was waiting and got it the next day.

   I’ve been buying Nutricost products for many years, so I was excited to find out that they released a clear protein powder. THE GOOD: Nutricost is a very reputable brand with products that are well tested, gluten free, and GMO free. The item that I received has an expiration date of January 2028, which is almost three years from now — so that’s plenty of shelf life. THE OKAY: The taste is… Meh. The first few sips have a chemical-like taste, but that soon goes away and you start to get hints of grape flavor. It isn’t something that I would drink just to enjoy the taste — which is fine, because we’re drinking it for the protein. THE BAD: The powder consistency is very fine, very light, and very dense. It’s very similar to flour. (So, even with your best efforts, it will get messy, just like flour.) As soon as I felt it, I had concerns that it might not mix well. Well, I poured some cold water into a bottle and added the suggested amount of powder, and shook for a good 30 seconds. After unscrewing the top I noticed heavy foam — which was fine because this was mentioned in the instructions. But after letting the foam settle I was disappointed to find lots of small clumps floating at the top, and along the sides of the bottle. So I put the cap back on and shook even harder for 30 more seconds. Some of the clumps were gone, but most were still there. Then I took a spoon and tried to break them up manually so that they’d dissolve with the water. But much like flour, these clumps formed a thick paste that was difficult to work with. I ended up scooping the clumps out. By then, the paste had dried on the sides of the bottle and I could not remove it, even with force. It ended up requiring a long soak in hot soapy water to get the dried paste out. (Note: I replicated the above process with warm water, just as a test — and got the same results.) In summary, this was disappointing due to the issues with powder not dissolving. And the whole process of multiple shaking attempts, waiting for foam to settle, trying to break up and remove the clumps and paste — it’s just a rather time consuming task for a 10-ounce drink.

   Really nice product. I like most of my Nuticoast products. This is great for the GLP-1 users like me who find it difficult to get 100g of protein every day. Only critique is that is says “easy to mix” and it is NOT! Blender required. Then you have to wait for the foam to settle. I make a weeks worth in advance every Sunday so I do t have to “mess” with the mess every day. Great tasting! I love the grape!
