Calcium Caseinate is a milk protein byproduct that is noted for being especially useful for muscle building. I am a cancer survivor and suffered from extreme muscle loss. I have been searching for the best combination of diet, supplements and exercise to help me recover. I had great hopes for this product for help in my recovery. Unfortunately, it arrived with a torn, loose heat shrink band on the exterior and no tamper evident seal on the inside. I have been told all my life never to consume such a product, so I threw it out. I have to give it 1 star.

As others have said, this is a Caseinate based protein so it doesn’t dissolve the say way Whey protein does. However, it does great when used as an additive to other recipes and I think the fact that it is digested more slowly, also helps to keeping me feeling full longer. Seems to have good macro’s and is priced very fair. A great product for mixing and baking but not my 1st choice for drinking alone.

I have had unflavored protein before. But I don’t remember it being so unpleasant. Maybe because it was not caseine. I do like that it is slow digesting, but it is also much harder to mix and left clumps in my shaker bottle. That were stuck like glue and required a stiff brush to remove. I am going to try to fight through it by adding sweetener, but I would not order again. Probably very good for bariatric patients though.

The macros alone are amazing for this product. I love fun flavors of protein powder, but some times they do not line up with what you want to use them with. I had been on the hunt for a decent powder that I could flavor with my skinny syrups.
I have a giant collection of sugar free syrups that often do not line up with flavors with my flavored proteins. This is the perfect platform to make myself all sorts of different flavors with out needing a second job for protein powder.
This mixes well with water, but I have found it mixes very well with almond milk also.
Every morning I have been blending this with ice, unsweetened almond milk and a scoop of pina colada collagen powder. The texture is so fluffy and honestly the taste of the collagen alone is meh, but with this even unflavored protein powder its more tasty.
A lot of people might not be using protein powder for weight loss, but this shake keeps me full sometimes until almost dinner time.
I would pick this up again.

First off I usually take my protein powder in an unflavored whey protein isolate, which is silly expensive. When I saw this one come up and since I had never taken it and it said it was slow release I wanted to give it a try. I’ve never taken it in this form at all, so it was a new experience for me. I can say that after about a week of using it, I have seen no performance loss at all.
As every supplement I get that says it’s unflavored. I usually start with mixing it in a cup of room temperature water to see how good it dissolves and how good the unflavored claim is. well, there was a little bit of a taste not enough to make a real difference. There was absolutely no granules left over or any sediment in the bottom of the cup after mixing it well. So I would say it dissolves really well. That being said, I usually put this in a smoothie so it doesn’t change the flavor of the smoothie at all.
I feel like this is a good source of protein. That’s easy to consume, and I would suggest it!

Lavi MD Calcium Caseinate protein powder is just not the protein choice for me. The power tastes almost like a burnt flavor and i just couldn’t get past it.
I love this powder on paper– Zero carbs, Zero fat, 500 mg of calcium, and 22 g of protein (which makes me wonder what the other 2.5 g are?) but the taste. <shudder>
I tried disguising it with vanilla stevia and matcha tea, but it was of no use. I couldn’t hide the burnt flavor. Sad.
Additionally, from a packaging safety standpoint– the jug only had a shrink wrapped plastic seal on the jar lid. There was no inner plastic/paper seal for freshness so perhaps that’s why the product was so undesirable.

ok so first off the bat, you have to know what you’re getting and this is not isolates. so there will be clumps in this product if you’re mixing it with liquids, and or if you are just mixing this product with liquids. anyway getting back to the product, this is the first, at least for me, of it’s kind where a casein product is flavorless. i’ve used it in smoothies by adding it and just using a spoon to mix, albiet it’s thick but thats what casein is, and i’ve done some baking, albiet nothing extravagant that requires the oven – something like pancakes as it’s the easiest way to use this kind of powder. overall for the label, at 100 calories and 22 grams of protein, that’s a great bang for the buck

The unflavored aspect is a major plus. It allows me to add it to virtually anything without altering the taste. I’ve mixed it into shakes, smoothies, oatmeal, and even baked goods, and it blends well. This makes it easy to incorporate into my everyday diet. Unlike some other protein powders, this protein has a smooth texture with no grit left over. I appreciate the clean and simple ingredient list. With no added sugar, I can feel good using it. It’s a pure and effective protein source.
